Base Camp leasing has a 59 acre hunting lease available for immediate lease in Schoharie County, New York. This hunting lease is about 32 miles from Albany, New York and is located in WMU (4H). On the seasonal road to the property I saw deer 4 different times along the road. The hunting lease is 59 acres that is a relatively flat hill top. The property has less than 80 feet of deviation. On the border that runs from the NW corner to the SW corner is where the property drops of pretty severely (on the neighbors). This hunting lease is in a NY forest management program and there will be some selective cutting, which will be done between August and the middle of September. No logging activities will be happening during deer season. The lease should provide deer, bear and turkey hunting opportunities. The farm fields in the NW will draw the deer. There is a well defined trail on the NE border. The property is well posted with the exception of the NE border. I found it extremely easy walking and almost flat! There will be a trail cut to the access road that will take you to the back east side of the property (by the loggers). It's a beautiful woods with oak , scattered pine and hemlock. As a bonus there is over 1700 acres of state land across the road. ATV use and camping are allowed for hunting purposes only. The property is well posted! Get with the landowner for camper parking spots (has spot close to property). Based on the deer I saw on the road in the vicinity of this property the hunting should be great!

Very close to Richmondville and Interstate 88.This property has 4 small fields divided by wooded fence lines. The very south field was not mowed and is overgrown golden rod. I jumped 2 deer in the field. Rest is woods. Property slopes up from the north to the south. The west side has a small stream running north and south (see topo). The west side of stream is very steep. I found one of the biggest rubs I have found in NY along the bottom of this stream. Property has scattered apple trees and oak trees. The SW corner is an awesome stand spot. There is a highway coming off and on property. Found several nice rubs, a scrape, as well as oak and apple trees here. You will be fighting your buddies for this spot. The SE corner also has a lot of deer sign going and coming. I found a lot of rubs. The landowner stated she saw 3 deer that morning and occasionally has seen a bear. You can post the property. ATV use is allowed for hunting purposes. There are several trails that will get you around to most of the property. No camping allowed. This is an excellent hunting lease that will provide deer, bear and turkey hunting oppurtunities.
