Pawnee County Nebraska Hunting Lease
A great little lease that will give a couple hunters a chance to fill deer and turkey tags year after year. On the lease there are row crops and a seasonal creek. The crops serve as one of few food sources in the area, a lot of woods, pasture, and CRP neighboring the boundary. The landowner tells me a large number of deer can be seen travelling across his place and onto the neighboring alfalfa, the other major food source. The big ticket is going to be all those woods across the fence, who knows what big daddy may jump the fence and come into this property! The turkey are also going to be roosting in those woods somewhere, call those Toms right into your decoys. There are plenty of tree stand locations and spots for blinds. I would get a blind near the northeast corner and enjoy many evening hunts and an all-day sit during the rut. This lease could prove to be as productive as any big properties are.

Great access from the north and east boundaries on this 80-acre lease! The terrain will conceal your entrance from the dirt road on the west end as well as the west side road along the north boundary by the old farmstead. On the east end will be where most of the action will be found, the crops are below the pasture divided by a creek and climbing hillside. Deer will be working their way to these crops in the evenings and off again mornings. Where might the deer be coming from? there is over 500 acres of solid and extremely thick habitat neighboring properties. There is endless buck potential coming off those neighboring lands. Immediately crossing the fence in the evenings, the deer will head to water at the ponds above the creek bottom. The big bucks may hold up at the ponds until dark due to the comfort of seclusion and cedar patch hideouts. Even if deer are not feeding on the crops below, they will still likely be coming to water in the creek bottom or ponds. This farm will not only give some excellent deer harvest opportunities but also make for some really fun spring turkey. This is a working cattle pasture with cattle scheduled May to around 3rd week in Oct. possibly 1st week of Nov. pending weather. Landowner reserves the right to limit access through gates and pasture parts when cattle are on the property.

Pawnee County Nebraska Hunting Lease
This property is a slow rolling hillside row crop property with some creek drainage draws and trees. The hill hides a good portion of the property from view of the road, that hidden area sits back towards the middle of the section. There are a lot of crops on this lease and mostly pasture on the neighboring properties, plan on seeing deer coming across the road or other adjacent properties to feed. On the north boundary there is an abandoned railroad, tracks have been removed. The cover on the old railroad was full of trails and buck rubs, plenty of trees to set a stand on the lease side of the fence along the north boundary. Also, on that north side, the old railroad acts as a shelter belt to some of the crop fields. The northwest crop field has a low secluded bowl that will defiantly draw some late season deer herds wanting protection from the north wind and a good thermal zone. I would say this property would be best suited for rifle and some cold muzzleloader hunting. During my inspection there were 2 big toms running out of the crop field and up to the old railroad, they must have been looking for hens until they saw me. Lastly, I can’t go without mentioning the big area of woods across the road from this lease, there is going to be some real surprise bucks coming out of those woods cruising the doe herd feeding on this lease. I would find a lookout and scout this lease with some good binoculars, my favorite thing to do! Place your deposit, place your decoy, and place a heart shot on your next trophy!

This property is a slow rolling hillside with row crops, creek drainage draws with trees, and a water source. As the corn fills the field this year, this lease is also going to fill up with deer. Despite the tall corn there will still be many access points either along the edges or woods and grass draws. The lease will also be an early and late season haven on the years it’s planted in beans. There is a very secluded pond in the middle of the crops that is full of water from the rain recently. I am certain there will likely be a buck or bachelor group bedding near that water source during the early season warm days, this could be a good chance at getting yourself a velvet mount. Plenty of deer sign crossing into the lease, many trails along the roadside. On my early morning inspection, a group of Toms were out on the hillside strutting. The turkey must roost nearby or in the mature trees on the property. The landowner mentioned a lot of deer frequently seen traveling across the northern hillside and disappearing into the crop field areas secluded by topography, also where the waterhole is. 274 acres is a lot of property, there is access from 3 sides of this big rectangular shaped piece of land. This lease can be productive to a bow, rifle, and muzzleloader hunter with the right approach. Southeast Nebraska is a great place to hunt for trophies!
